Delusion

A strong belief in something that does not exist no matter how much empirical evidence there is to refute it. It may be related to an underlying mental disorder or brought on by the effects of drugs and alcohol or withdrawing from drugs and alcohol. During a Psychotic episode current events may be interpreted different then what is occurring in reality and the subject will react irrationally. A delusion can also be formed by linking related information together in a rationalized manner but will result in an irrational conclusion for example everyone is spying on me and here is the proof in those convenience store cameras. Delusion can also be a symptom of many other mental disorders.
