Managers in the workplace do have an important role to play with solving and making things mesh with a diverse group of opinions and cultures and ever changing responsibilities you need to celebrate it as each person sees the task from a different point of view.(Hansen, n.d).To promote team work for the benifitte of every one involved the management the company and the customers.(Llopis,2012). In order to get this done as a supervisor things must flow well. So What does happen when conflict arises between colleagues and how would a manager solve it? If you have built a rapport with the members you can key in on subtle diffuclties that others may not notice be it the personality or even detecting that something may be going on in the background that no one is aware of. If you take a diplomatic approach you will build credibitly and be able to solve a disagreement related to work or related to hidden unknowns at the persons personal life. Be a friend.(Hansen,n.d).

As a manager What are the best strategies for dealing with office politics? Well like in all situations adress the problems head on listen carefuly to all sides since there may be more then two and then break down the problem into chunks and take them one by one.(Llopis,2012). Address the issues let the people with a disagreement help you solve it while being diplomatic. Never play favorites and never appear if you are playing favorites.

Three strategies for a manager is Always required pay attention to the team identify their strengths and weaknesses, Know when and where to use them to the best advantage and know when not to use them. Just like coaching a sports team every player has advantages and disadvantages find out what they are. The second key in strategy Establish credibility not just from your expertise but from your personal relationships with the team and management , if you say you can access this this for the team bring it the next day. (Llopis,2012).If the team needs help you be on that phone as soon as capable to help them out. and the third and final suggestion of this essay is to have great communication skills talk to them at their level, do not talk down mock or use sarcasm repeat what they say when you answer their questions or comments this wil indicate that you understood and are listening, And if you misheard they can correct you at that moment.

One situation i was supervisor for a floor crew i was about 29 i had a 49 year old working under me and a 21 year old. The problem i had with the 49 was his problem with me being younger then him and he did not like me giving him orders much and the 21 year old was basicly still a teenager all his money went to his hobbies or parties. The 49 year old would try to go behind my back get me in trouble with my boss. and that just made me angry and frustrated so when my Boss called me and ask me if it was true, I sounded angry and mad and I was i could of handles it better i should of relaxed took a deep breath becuase i was surrounded by video cameras and proof plus the VP was talking to me while i was workin gi had evidence on my side and i just should of calmly asked for that person to be replaces or talked too. So my recomendation is no matter how mad angry or in the right you are relax take a breath solve the problem in chunks find out the reasons and adress them.

The final thought is to remeber this A good Warren G Bennis said that "Leaders are people who do the right things; managers are people who do things right." (Mind Tools, n.d).
